How Much Money Does A Soulcycle Instructor Make

How much do you think Peloton instructors get paid? Given their "celebrity" I would think more than a traditional spin instructor right! Are they responsible for planning/putting together their classes or does someone else do it for them? Just curious

I have wondered if there is an incentive portion to their pay based on the number of people taking the specific class or class ratings.

Given they live in NYC $250k doesn't seem outrageous.

Lowers salary I think but I hear they received significant options. With IPO in the works they will definitely be taken care of!!

From the interviews I've read, if they teach a full schedule, they easily make 6 figures, one interview (since deleted) said "around 300k".

Remember, all of the first instructors were "stolen" from other jobs, and moved to the most expensive city on the East coast... to draw them in the remuneration has to have been good.

Not sure how long that will last or if the newest batch make as much?

Do they put together the classes themselves? I always see on their instagrams that they are picking playlists but what about the ride itself?

Yes, they seem to choreograph everything themselves - LeAnne has posted about how much time goes into planning out a class!

Most instructors are paid per class and are independent contractors. Soulcycle and Equinox (same company) pay the best. I recollect from an owner of a Cyclebar franchise that Soulcycle and Equinox make like $75-$100/class. Maybe more depending on thier popularity- $200/class or more. NYSC and Crunch and other gyms pay lower - $30-$50/class. Cyclebar tries to pay near Soulcycle so to recruit Soulcycle instructors. Flywheel, started by a founder of Soulcycle, probably pays similar to Soulcycle.

As for Peloton - they are paid for thier talent to keep riders and build followers for Peloton. They are probably paid equal to top Soulcycle instructors with some equity stake with benefits. They are probably employees rather than contractors. Also, this is the best gig they can have with Peloton. There is no real competition for Peloton in terms of losing talent yet.

I've seen quotes that they're paid per class, and it's something like $500-750/class. I'm guessing it varies more than that based on length, for example. If they taught 10/week, 52 weeks/year, that's $260,000 - $390,000 aiming that range is right. 10 seems low-ish to me per week, but I don't have a good sense yet of how much they teach.

Peleton Instructors get paid between $500-$750 per live class and up to $300,000 a year. They have a lot of responsibility besides riding a bike. They have to travel a lot!
